- offer welcome to every international student and scholar
- are a recognized Religious Life group at Duke University
- are affiliates with Duke’s GPSG
- are advocates and partners with Duke International Student Center (DISC)
- partner with local churches to find volunteers who are interested in joining us in loving and serving international students
International Students Inc. is 70+ years old, includes 400+ staff around the USA, and enjoys sister relationships with similar outreach organizations in Canada, U.K., and Hong Kong, for example.
Why We Serve
Our Hope is that through activities, meaningful interaction, and friendship, international students and visiting scholars shall encounter the living Lord Jesus Christ, thus:
- Adding Value for the collective good of society;
- Cultivating Character, especially in a global climate often lacking good leadership; and
- Nurturing Wisdom, so that together we may live the way we were all intended and deeply desire to live!

- Hiking (e.g. Eno River, Occoneechee, Hanging Rock, Pilot Mountain, Duke Forest)
- Pumpkin carving
- Discovery Bible Study
- Christmas and Easter events: understanding the cultural significance
- Disaster Relief: Rebuilding NC homes damaged by hurricanes
- Sweet Potato Gleaning: collecting food to feed those in need
